What it is

What Slipstream does

A fully unlocked development preview for one Mac and one Windows PC: paired input sharing, clipboard, verified file copies and workspaces.

The current download includes Mac 0.2.9 (build 13) and Windows 0.2.7. These are development builds: automated checks and packaging validation have passed, while cursor and keyboard behaviour is still being tested on real devices. Read the current limits before purchasing.

Pair the two computers, choose where their screen edges meet and enable the required input permissions. Slipstream implements keyboard and pointer sharing, text and image clipboard, verified file copies and receiver-approved workspace copies over the selected connection.

One purchase provides the fully unlocked preview with both installers in one ZIP. There are no subscriptions, locked feature tiers or cloud accounts. Extract the complete archive on each computer and follow the included Quick Start.

How it does its job

Choose the connection

Cable-only mode requires compatible Thunderbolt or USB4 networking at both ports and a suitable cable. An ordinary USB-C cable does not create a network connection by itself. Local-network mode is an explicit alternative.

Pair and arrange the screens

Approve the peer and compare the displayed verification code. Select the connecting side on each computer; the bridge is not fixed to Mac-right and Windows-left. macOS Accessibility permission is required for shared input.

Copy files with verification

The file service checks transferred data and retains recovery information for interrupted jobs. Use the app's file controls in this release; continuous Finder-to-Explorer dragging is still under development.

Install both sides from one download

On Mac, run Slipstream/Mac/Install Slipstream.pkg. On Windows, run Slipstream/Windows/Install Slipstream.cmd with the complete Windows folder present; it selects x64 or ARM64. Windows requires the free Microsoft WebView2 Runtime; a separate .NET installation is not needed.

What it doesn't do

This preview is still undergoing physical compatibility testing. Cursor and keyboard behaviour is still being tested on real devices. Moving live app/browser windows between operating systems, continuous Finder/Explorer drag-and-drop, international IME support and arbitrary multi-monitor routing are not included. Windows login, UAC and protected/elevated surfaces require local input. Do not purchase expecting those unfinished features.

Native, local-first, and yours

Fully unlocked development preview. One purchase includes both installers, with no subscription or account. Cursor and keyboard behaviour is still being tested on real devices. Live app-window transfer and continuous Finder/Explorer dragging are not included in this release.

Common questions

What is Slipstream?

A development preview for one Mac and one Windows PC, with paired keyboard and pointer sharing, text/image clipboard, verified file copies and portable workspaces. Cursor and keyboard behaviour is still being tested on real devices.

Who is Slipstream for?

Slipstream is for people testing a shared Mac and Windows workspace. Mac + Windows input, clipboard and verified file copies. Fully unlocked preview; both installers in one ZIP.

Which Macs can run Slipstream?

Slipstream runs on macOS 13+ · Apple silicon and Intel, Windows 10/11 · x64 and ARM64. Check the product requirements before purchasing.

What exactly is in the current download?

Slipstream-0.2.9-Mac-and-Windows.zip contains Mac 0.2.9 (build 13), Windows 0.2.7 for x64 and ARM64, both installers, Quick Start, version information and checksums. Keep the extracted Windows folder together.

Are these installers signed?

The Mac app is Developer ID signed, but its current installer package is unsigned and the app is not Apple-notarized. Windows development binaries are not Authenticode signed. The operating systems may show security warnings. These are development builds, not a claim of completed physical compatibility testing.

Will any USB-C cable work?

No. Direct cable mode needs compatible Thunderbolt/USB4 networking support on both computers and a suitable data cable. Otherwise use the app's explicit local-network mode. Software cannot turn ordinary USB host ports into a networking link.

Can I drag a live app window between Mac and Windows?

That feature is being developed and is not included in this paid preview. Continuous native file dragging is also not included; use the current file-transfer controls.

Is Slipstream the full version, or are features locked?

The download is the complete app. There is no subscription, no locked tier, no account, and no trial timer — every feature is included.

How do I get Slipstream?
